IIFA 2013

Dia Mirza stayed right in her comfort zone in a beige Ayesha Depala. While she look gorgeous, as usual, just wished she would experiment a little. No doubt she looked beautiful, though.

Dia Mirza (in Ayesha Depala) and

Yami chose an emerald and lime green Swapnil Shinde for the event. Love the color and love it on her, but wished she went for a more striking eye make up.

Yami Gautam in Swapnil Shinde

Sridevi looked like a million bucks in a strapless shimmery number. Completing her look was bright red lips and side swept hair. Any other girl wishing they look this good when they turn 50?

Sridevi

Khushi and Jhanvi were right behind their mom, with Khushi in a shimmery beige dress, matching her mom's and Jhanvi looking vibrant in  a strapless sky blue dress with asymmetrical hemline, which she finished with a pair of stud and soft curly hair with headband. Lovely!

Khushi & Jhanvi Kapoor

Breaking away from her usual Sabyasachi, Vidya Balan wore an Anand Kabra lehenga to the event. While the design was lovely and her side braid worked for the look, I just have one minor gripe about the sleeves being too loose. Just fitting those sleeves right would've made this one a perfect look. Hubby, Aditya matched her i a black suit and white shirt.

Kunal Roy Kapoor and Vidya Balan (in Anand Kabra)

Shriya definitely loves her Manish Malhotra oufits, but this is turning to be a snore-fest. While this look definitely worked a lot better than her last Manish Malhotra outing, I'd really appreciate a little change up.

Shriya Saran in Manish Malhotra

One of my favorite looks of the night, was that of Neha Dhupia in Anamika Khanna, featuring  pair of black pants and a long white embroidered jacket. The play of the strong bodice against the floral trail combined with gold art deco jewelry made for a fantastic combo.

Aftab suited up in black for the event and added a pop of red via the bow tie. He looked good.

Aftab Shivdasani

Also suited up in black was Shah Rukh, wearing a shiny black tux and accessorizing it with black leather  arm sling. Wishing his arm a speedy recovery.

Shah Rukh Khan

Also in black was Huma Qureshi wearing a slick Nikhil Thampi creation. She looked absolutely stunning with half hair pulled up, smokey eyes and god cuffs on both wrists. Gorgeous!

Huma Quresh in Nikhil Thampi

Sophie channeled a modern day Cleopatra in a black and gold Raakesh Agarwal. The design could easily look tacky on some, but Sophie pulled it off elegantly.

Sophie Choudry in Raakesh Agarwal

Shahid cleaned up nicely after his disastrous IIFA Rocks appearance, wearing black tux with maroon bow tie.

Shahid Kapoor

Jacqueline turned up the glam factor after her fun and flirty IIFA Rocks look. In a dove gold Roberto Cavalli, she sizzled on the carpet,. Just wished she went for a brighter shade of coral lip color.

Jacqueline Fernandez in Roberto Cavalli

Also in a slick black Nikhil Thampi was Parineeti Chopra. The bubbly actress also turned up the glam factor, dressing up her dress with low updo, gold earrings and cuff, maroon lips and red pumps. While she look absolutely breathtaking, I do think the cuff was unnecessary.

Parineeti Chopra in Nikhil Thampi

Amrita Rao kept int simple in a Jade by Karishma and Monica gown. The dress might have seemed like a good idea, but her petite figure just looked drowned in it.

Evelyn dressed in a dark blue Roberto Cavalli and topped it with red lips and straight hair. The dress looked good on her but I do think her hair would have looked better in a a low ponytail.

Evelyn Sharma in Roberto Cavalli

Minissha chose another Ayesha Depala for the main event, but to a much better outcome. The purple dress combined withe the black belt to define her waist, looked elegant on her, styled with sleek bun and pearl drop earrings.

Minissha Lamba in Ayesha Depala

Richa Chadda redeemed herself after her disastrous IIFA Rocks look with a black Pria Kataria Puri gown. She dressed it up with a cuff, maroon lips and earrings. While it's  not a 10/10 look, she still looked good.

Anushka adopted the soft look for the event, wearing a white Roberto Cavalli, with soft make up and straight hair. Love that she mixes it up with bold and soft looks, but a ponytail would've worked better for the look, in my opinion.

Anushka Sharma in Roberto Cavalli

Madhuri was also in Jade by Karishma and Monica. Her hair and make up, I absolutely love. The earrings were to die for. Not quite a fan of the saree, especially the sloppy draping, but she pulled it off beautifully.

After a safe leopard maxi for IIFA Rocks, Lisa went for a risqué Namrata Joshipura creation. The peek a boo dress isn't everyone's cup of tea, but Lisa sure made it work.

Lisa Haydon in Namrata Joshipura

Abhishek also suited up in black, wearing a three piece suit with leather detailing. He looked good.

Abhishek Bachchan

Deepika wasn't seen on the red carpet but that didn't stop fashion enthusiast from spotting her in Naeem Khan on stage No full length pics are available, but from what I see, she looked beautiful, as always.

Ayushmann moved away from the suit and opted for an indian look. Posing proudly with his IIFA in hand, the multi-talented actor looked good. Love the outfit!

IIFA Rocks 2013

Madhuri flaunted her bright smile at the IIFA Rocks green carpet wearing a mint green and dull pink Manish Malhotra lengha. I'm not quite a fan of the outfit, personally. As nice as she looked, the lengha felt too 90s to me. Much prefer her look in Masaba in Jhalak Dikh Laja

Madhuri Dixit in Manish Malhotra

Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor (Sridevi's daughters), who are quickly gaining the limelight, was seen at the green carpet as well. Khushi looked cute in a light purple baby doll dress while Jhanvi slightly disappointed (at least me) with a princess-y off shoulder beige dress. She has given much more stylish appearance, thus the expectation.

Jhanvi & Khushi Kapoor

Folowing her daughters was Mommy fabulous in a gorgeous teal gown. She styled it with maroon clutch and picked up the color via her maroon lips. Only thing, I wish she skipped the hazel lenses, it was really unnecessary. (Being to picky??)

Sridevi

Abhishek opted for white shirt, faded denims and pink jacket for the event. Love the fact that he doesn't shy away from colors, but I do wish he would have picked different pair of bottoms. This was a Not Quite for me.

Abhishek Bachchan

Just gotta say, what the hell happened with you Shahid? That shirt just made my eyed sore! Here's hoping he makes a much better comeback for the main event.

Shahid Kapoor

A scruffed up and thinner Shah Rukh was in an all black suit fro the event. Love the beard look on him (he's finally not attempting too hard too look young) and the suit was definitely a huge relieve after his last award show red carpet appearance

Shah Rukh Khan

Arjun Kapoor went for a black bandhgala suit. He, as usual looks good.

Arjun Kapoor

Wearing an almost identical look to Arjun Kapoor's was Zayed Khan. He looked good.

Zayed Khan

Deepika brought drama to the green carpet via her Naeem Khan outfit, and kudos to her for going for something experimental against the predictable dress or gowns. The beauty styled is with her signature puffed up ponytail and dark purple lips.

Deepika Padukone in Naeem Khan

A tired looking Sonu Nigam was in a dark grey suit with light grey piping details. He looked okay but I do have a gripe about the tie.

Sonu Nigam

Huma was gorgeous in a black and bronze SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi outfit, which she styled with a loose braided do, danglers and dark red lips. This look might be overwhelming on some, but she managed to carry it off elegance.

Jacqueline was all smiles in a strapless red Dolce & Gabbana number. She teamed the dress with black Loubs and gold Valliyan by Nitya Arora cuffs on both wrists. Love the look!

Jacqueline Fernandez in Dolce & Gabbana

Lisa was in a leopard print maxi for the event. While she looked nice, the look felt a bit too safe.

Lisa Haydon

Neha Dhupia was in black for the event. But this black was anything but boring. The vintage-looking Atsu gown, combined with the striking white collar and embellished belt looked beautiful. Topped with smokey eyes and an updo, this was perfection!

Neha Dhupia in Atsu

Sophie went for an elegant Rocky S gown. She finished it out with an updo and diamond bracelet and danglers. She looked gorgeous! But, anyone else felt the striking resemblance between this dress and the Naeem Khan worn by Deepika?

Sophie Chaudry in Rocky S

Sonu Sood went for something a little different from the classic suit and it worked. He looked good. Wife, Sonali, matched him in a white and black dress. The dress could use a little more punch via a different do or bolder makeup perhaps.

Sonu and Sonali Sood

Aftab went semi formal in a white shirt paired with grey jacket. The shirt could use another button up. Fiancé Nin Dusanj looked beautiful in a strapless white dress paired with diamond danglers and red lips.

Aftab Shivdasani and Nin Dusanj

Richa Chadda got everyone's jaw dropping, not for the right reasons. The usually elegant Richa picked a beige and red Tarun Tahiliani anarkali for the event. The red embroidery was way too jarring for the eye. Her maang tikka didn't help redeem the look either, I'm afraid. This was a bid NO!

Richa Chadda in Tarun Tahiliani

Parineeti tried a different look in Falguni & Shane Peacock mini and her hair pulled back with a headband. The dress could definitely use the extra length in my opinion. This look seemed too forced on her.

Parineeti Chopra in Falguni & Shane Peacock

Ayushmann stayed in his comfort zone with his black tux and bow tie. Just wished to see a little more color from the quirky actor.

Ayushmann Khurranna

Ayushmann's wife, Tahira also dressed in black, wearing a Notte by Marchesa gown. She looked nice, but wished she went for a brighter lip color.

Tahira Khurranna (Ayushmann's wife) in Notte by Marchesa

Evelyn definitely didn't go unnoticed on the green carpet, strutting in a bright pink Wendell Rodricks gown. While the design itself was pretty simple, the color definitely added to the look. She looked nice

Evelyn Sharma in Wendell Rodricks

This might have been the first time I'm disappointed with Diya's red carpet look. The usually impeccable actress chose a rather boring LBD, which did nothing for her. Hope she revives herself at the main event.

Diya Mirza

Ayesha Depala's design might have been interesting, but it just looked off on Minissha. The dress just wasn't meant for her petite figure.

Minissha Lamba in Ayesha Depala

Gauhar picked a tricky dress to pull off, but managed to do so quite beautifully. I only have a minor gripe about the satin teal not being properly steamed. Other than that, she looked fantastic.
