Oscars 2013

In a futuristic Armani design, Naomi Watts looked gorgeous. Topping off the look was a messy updo.

Reese Witherspoon was in a cobalt blue Louis Vuitton and looked strikingly beautiful in it. Subtle make-up, side swept hair and minimal jewels perfected the look.

Amanda Seyfried was stunning in a lavender Alexander McQueen. The halter keyhole dress was fitted to perfection. I was hunting for a pop of color though, maybe via dark lip color.

All hail Charlize Theron. She has got to be the 'Best Dressed' for me. Dior, I bow to you! The white peplum gown was perfection. The diamond detailing at the waist was my favorite part. Put the perfect dress on the statuesque Charlize Theron, who debut her new pixie cut do on the carpet and it was a breathtaking view!

Its not Helena Bohem Carter if her dress doesn't leave us with our jaws open (not for the good reason). Wearing a Vivienne Westwood design, Helena was her usually quirky self. In her arm was hubby Tim Burton who was unfortunately with an arm sling.

Jennifer Garner was stunning in a bright purple Gucci. The strapless number was basic in the front and ruffled up at the back, giving it an element of surprise. The Neil Lane jewelry made for the perfect addition.
Accompanying her was her dapper husband, Ben Affleck in a sharp Gucci tux.

Arriving in a pair of crutches was Kristen Stewart. She ditched her crutches for the red carpet posing, showing off her elegant Reem Acra dress. While the dress was dreamy, the hair was so not. If not anything, at least brush it properly.

Jane Fonda stood out in a bright yellow Ateliér Versacé. The ageless actress wore the striking color with confidence and looked stunning in it. I wasn't quite a fan of the matching earrings though.

Baring too much is not quite the best  formula for the red carpet. Kelly Rowland had a run with this mistake in a black and white Donna Karan Atelier. While this could've have been a beautiful look, the overexposed leg ruined it. I'd prefer no slit on this look. The over the top updo didn't work either.

Kerry Washington was in a coral Miu Miu, which looked perfect on her. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the hair, seemed a bit too tapered to me.

The svelte Samantha Barks wore a plunging neckline black Valentino, which had heads turning. Sexy!

Queen Latifah arrived in a white Badgley Mischka. Love that she kept it simple and added a pop of color with the striking pink lipstick. Absolutely stunning!

Helen Hunt seemed to have gotten ready in a hurry for the awards by the evidence of her crumpled H&M gown. The fit at the waist was also off.

In a stunning deep red Marchesa, Olivia Munn owned the carpet. The fishtail train and golden embroidery was an absolute eye-treat. Top it off with the perfect hair, make-up and jewelry and she was a vision.

Jennifer Aniston tried a silhouette she never did with a red Valentino. The dress was tasteful and looked beautiful on her but the hair left it looking flat. Wish she had done a loose bun instead.

Jennifer Lawrence was living out a fairy tale with her big win and looked like a fairy tale beauty on the red carpet , wearing a blush Dior Haute Couture. The fit, the cut, the texture, the hair and make-up, everything was perfect!

Nicole stunned in a sparkly black and gold L'Wren Scott. The dress showed off her stellar curves beautifully. The mermaid cut works mesmerizingly on the red carpet.
Keith Urban looked dapper in his suit. Love the leather trimming at the sides of the pants.

In a custom Armani design, Jessica Chastain rocked the red carpet. The cut of the dress was just perfect and her Lana Turner-esque red hair, matched with red lips, against the nude shade of the dress left us envious.

Gold is definitely Catherine Zeta-Jones's color. Putting the Oscar itself to shame was her arrival in a gold Zuhair Murad. While I find the gold applique on the tulle rather jarring, she somehow makes it work. Lorraine Schwartz jewelry completed her look.

Being the sex symbol of Hollywood, a sexy appearance from Halle Berry was expected. And she didn't disappoint with sequined striped gown from Ateliér Versacé. The cuts of the gown accentuated her stellar figure and structured shoulder against the plunging neckline played perfectly.

In an elegantly beaded Elie Saab, Sandra Bullock stood out like the Hollywood queen that she is. The tiers lace was subtle and sexy all at the same time. She completed her look with simple straight hair and Harry Winston jewelry.

Talk about glitz and glam! Salma Hayek in a black and gold column dress by Alexander McQueen was an absolute stunner. It was a welcome change to see Salma in a dress which doesn't highlight her 'assets'. Gotta point out, the jeweled neck was beautiful!

Adele was shimmering in a black Jenny Packham. And you gotta love the 60s do, suits her to a tee.

Anne Hathaway is usually a fashion front runner, but this appearance was an exception. The statement necklace with the dress looked very 90s and the nipple print was an unforgivable distraction.

In a blue Cavalli, Jennifer Hudson wowed at the Oscars. The curve hugging dress was stellar. I just wish she went with a contrasting colored clutch or shoes. The all blue look was a 'not quite' for me.

Jenna Dewan was glowing in her black lacey Rachel Roy dress. The pregnant beauty looked stunning. Love the bright pink lips!
Joining her was her dashing husband, Channing Tatum who looked dapper in Gucci.

Being comfortable in your red carpet dress is a good thing, but sometimes being too comfortable is not quite a thing. Melissa McCarthy's jersey David Meister didn't quite hit the right notes. The slouchy silhouette wasn't flattering, the embellishments didn't help either.

Octavia chose a champagne Tadashi Shoji for the event. While I like the dress and the pop of pink via the pink lips, I wasn't quite a fan of the updo with bangs.

Kristin Chenoweth's Tony Ward dress seemed like one of those dress which seemed like a good idea on paper, but doesn't translate quite as nicely in reality. The peacock feather-esque shimmer at the bodice looked sort of tacky, ruining the whole look.

Amy Adams was in blue-ish grey number by Oscar de la Renta. She was a true vision in the voluminous dress.

Stacy Keibler followed the metallic trend in a Naeem Khan gown. The gunmetal beading was absolutely stunning and the black highlighted her figure perfectly. Even more perfect was the sheer back. She topped it with a retro curl. In her arm was beau, George Clooney, looking sharp in a tux. (Not a fan of the beard though).

While I love the fit and monochromatic tiers of the dress, the bow and belt made for unnecessary additions. She looked good neck up though.

Zoe Seldana

Kelly Osbourne was all smiles in her black Tony Ward. While the design was interesting, I wasn't quite a fan of it on her. The horizontal stripes didn't quite work for Kelly in my opinion.

Guiliana Rancic ditched her signature extensions at the Oscars (must say its about time...). The Rafael Cenammo gown she had on went perfectly with the shoulder length do. The bright red lips made for a nice addition.
